Ey, what’s up, World?
Again, it’s been a while! I just seem to remember this site when I feel the sudden urge to update my portfolio. And boy, it needs a good share of updates, starting with plugin/Wordpress updates and solutions for unwanted behavior that this website theme is giving me. But I’m not going to talk about that today. It’s obvious there are things to fix, and I have decided to take a different approach instead of patching things up. Indeed, I’ve just finished creating a very quick CV website, where now my clavinia.eu domain redirects to, so I can have a more professional approach when giving this URL. And then, for the same reason, I plan to start submitting the projects I feel more proud of to Behance.
Does this mean I am abandoning this portfolio? Nope! No more than it already is abandoned, at least. I really wish I had more time to get back to it and keep showing you here my small and personal projects. The other truth is that I have not been able to work on many personal projects lately, either, because… Guess what? I’m getting married the 14th of July! Weeeee! (Yeah, I don’t really know how or why but it happened ^^U). So that has been my biggest and only personal project lately. Hell, you can’t imagine how time consuming organizing a wedding is until you really get to it O_o.
Luckily, I have not let art aside. In fact, I’ve never been closer to art as I am now because I’m getting paid for it! Since a bit later of my previous blog entry I have been working as an illustrator in a very promising project and mobile application, Space Nation Navigator App. I even got promoted from Game Artist to Game Lead Artist during this last year! I’ve learned so much about 2D vector art and game assets, and I am super happy with my teammates, both in Alicante and Finland.
The less happy part about it is that startups are fragile, and so is our position now. However, after this experience, I want to keep growing as an artist in the video game industry, if possible. But, if the market doesn’t allow it, it’s true that I also miss the web design a bit, and Javascript is a border that I swear I will conquer one day. So, as you can see, I have been giving my career some thought…
But that is all that I can give for now, because my additional time and effort is focused on wedding matters and… long Honeymoon plans! We will be on holidays from the 12th of July to the 6th of August, and that is just the reset I need after a long period of stress (because, yes, weddings are fricking stressful).
I just felt like I wanted to share here a bit of what has been happening to me lately. And this time, take more seriously the project to fix this old art blog so it can look as it should. I can’t promise I will be able to do it anytime soon, though, but at least I want you guys to know that I never left. I just worked on other things around.
And that will be all for today. Next time I write, it will most probably be as a wedded person. I’m sure life exists beyond the wedding but I still have to see it xD.
Enjoy the desired summertime, lovely people, and see you soon, I hope!
